Robbery, Lisburn

Detectives are investigating following a robbery outside a hall on the Hillhall Road, Lisburn. Shortly before 10.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 15 December) a number of women were leaving the Braniel Hall following a meeting when two males made a grab for their handbags. One woman managed to hold on to her bag however another woman was knocked to the ground as she struggled with her attacker who then managed to steal her handbag. This woman later attended hospital with cuts and bruising to her head and a suspected broken arm and a suspected broken hip. The stolen handbag contained a mobile phone, bank cards and personal belongings.
Police are appealing for anyone travelling on the Hillhall Road, between 10.00pm and 10.30pm last night and who noticed any suspicious activity in the area of the Braniel Hall, or the Ballymullan Road, or anyone with information about the incident to contact detectives at Lisburn 0845 600 8000.
