Stabbing incident, Ballyhackamore, East Belfast

A 19-year-old man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and will appear at Belfast Laganside court tomorrow morning, Monday 2 February.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

The charges relate to a stabbing incident in the Hyndford street area of Ballyhackamore East Belfast shortly before 10:30pm last night, Saturday 31 January.

Two people, a 21-year-old man was stabbed in the chest, and a 38-year-old woman was stabbed in the abdomen. Both were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital, their conditions are not believed to be life threatening
