Armed robbery, Belfast city centre

Detectives in South Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery in the Royal Avenue area of Belfast city centre on the afternoon of 5 February.

Shortly before 3pm a male took a cash box from a cash-in-transit van parked on Royal Avenue, close to the junction of North Street. It is believed he may have had a firearm in his possession.

The male was wearing jeans and a grey hooded top and ran off in the direction of Castlecourt.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or has information relating to it to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
