Railway Detonators Stolen, South Belfast

Police in South Belfast are appealing for information following the theft of a number of railway detonators from the train line.

The detonators, were laid on the line between Balmoral and Derriaghy and were taken some time between 12.30am and 4.30am on Thursday, 26 February..

The detonators are used as emergency warning devices and are circular in shape, yellow and approximately 1 and a half inches in diameter. They are dangerous and could cause serious injury if used inappropriately.

Police are appealing to anyone who has information about the whereabouts of these detonators to contact them. They would also warn members of the public that these detonators should not be handled. If anyone comes across them they should contact police immediately. The number to phone is 0845 600 8000.
