Attempted armed robbery, main street, Donaghadee 26/02/09

Police have arrested a woman aged in her 30s following an incident in Donaghadee.

Shortly before 7.10pm on Thursday, 26 February, it was reported that an attempt had been made at Main Steet to rob a woman aged in her 50s at gunpoint.

However, the female robber fled empty-handed into a Vauxhall Corsa car.

A car was stopped around two minutes later at Cloughey Road.

One woman aged in her 30s has been arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Initial enquiries suggest that the incident in Donagadee is connected to a robbery at Mill Street in Comber on Wednesday, 25 February and the robbery of a chemist shop in Kircubbin early on Thursday afternoon, 26 February.
