Serious assault Derry

Police investigating a serious assault which took place at Foyle Street in Londonderry during the early hours of Friday 20th February are appealing for witnesses.

At approximately 2.15am it was reported a male had been assaulted close to a bookmakers in the Foyle Street area. A 27 year old man was subsequently taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Foyle Street area at the time of the incident and and who witnessed the assault. They are particularly keen to speak to a male aged in his early 20s, described as 5' 8" in height, with black hair, wearing a navy tracksuit and white trainers who was seen in the area at the time.
