Assault, Lower English Street, Armagh

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the Lower English Street area of Armagh on Saturday morning, 4 July.
A 34 year old man was walking in an alleyway close to Lonsdale Court at around 7am when he was set upon from behind by an unknown number of men.
It's understood the victim may have been attacked with an iron bar and a bottle. He sustained injuries to his legs and head and is recovering in hospital.
Anyone who was in the area on Saturday morning and who may have witnessed the assault or noticed a group of men, is asked to call police on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively anonymous information can be given to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
