Attempted murder charges Castlewellan assault

Three men aged 18, 19 and 20 have been charged with attempted murder and GBH and will appear at Downpatrick magistrate court this morning.  A fourth man has been released on bail pending a report to the PPS.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.

The charges relate to an assault on Saturday 11 July in the Main Street area of Castlewellan during which three men were taken to hospital.  One of these men remains in the Royal Victoria Hospital in a critical condition.
