Attempted robbery, Killyliss Road, Dungannon

Police in Dungannon are appealing for information following an attempted robbery in the Killyliss Road area of Dungannon during the early hours of Wednesday, 1 July.

At approximately 4.30am the driver of an articulated lorry pulled into a transport yard on Killyliss Road. As he got out of the lorry he was approached by two males, believed to have firearms in their possession, who shouted at him to open the warehouse. The driver was punched to the head before the alarm went off and a third male shouted to the other two to leave the premises. The three men then made off.

The three men spoke with Belfast accents and were wearing dark clothing.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or has information relating to it. They are also particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed a silver coloured Transit van in the area prior to the incident.
