Distraction burglary, Glanleam Drive, North Belfast

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a distraction burglary at the home of an elderly lady in North Belfast on Monday afternoon, 20 July.

At approximately 5.20pm two males, purporting to be from the Water Board, called at the property at Glanleam Drive.  The males managed to get inside the house and upon doing so stole a handbag containing a sum of cash and a number of credit cards.

It's believed the pair made off in a car in the direction of the Antrim Road .

The males are both described as in their 20s.  One had dark hair and the other had ginger hair.

Detectives at Antrim Road CID would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed any suspicious activity.  They are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white van believed to have been involved in a near miss with a vehicle on Glandore Avenue following this incident.
