Fatal collision, Newry Road, Loughbrickland

Two people (a male and a female) have died following the fatal Road Traffic Collision on the A1 Newry Road between Loughbrickland and Newry shortly after 1:30pm this afternoon (Friday 17 July). No one was in the lorry at the time of the collision. The people who died are believed to have been the driver and front seat passenger of the car. The road remains closed and diversions remain in place.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact police at Newry on 0845 600 8000.

UPDATE
The man and woman who died following a fatal rtc on the A1 Newry Road on Friday, 17 July, have been named as 59 year old Ronald Malloy and 61 year old Jean Malloy from the Bannockburn area of Scotland.
The rtc occurred shortly after 1.30pm on Friday afternoon.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the collision to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
