Heroin seizure, Foyle Bridge, Derry

Police have seized drugs including what is believed to be the largest seizure of heroin in Northern Ireland.
The class A drugs were seized after a vehicle was stopped and searched on the Foyle Bridge in Derry at around 1am on Saturday morning, 11 July.
Two males aged 41 and 28 years, and one female aged 24 years have been arrested.
The overall haul of drugs seized, which includes the heroin, is believed to be in excess of £1.5m.
Guidance: Eight kilos of heroin were seized in this current haul. The previous largest heroin seizure was 3.5 kilos. (The heroin is valued any where between £500, 000 and £2m depending on its purity).
