Robbery Cash in Transit van Ballygomartin Road Belfast

Police in North Belfast are appealing for information following the robbery of a cash in transit van near commercial premises on the Ballygomartin Road this morning, Saturday 20th June. The incident was reported to police shortly before 10.00am. Two security guards were approached by one male who was armed with handgun. He threatened both before making off with a cash box in a waiting green coloured Mazda car, driven by a second male.

A similar vehicle was found burnt out a short time later in Parkview Court. The van driver was physically unhurt but shaken by his ordeal. The man armed with the gun is described as slim build, wearing a dark balaclava, a long sleeved light blue top with jeans and white trainers.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who can provide any information on those involved or the vehicle they were travelling in, is asked to contact detectives at Antrim Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
