Man charged, Newry

A 40 year old man has been charged with Attempting to commit GBH, Aggravated Burglary, Criminal Damage, Going Equipped for Theft, Possession of an Offensive Weapon, Theft, Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition in Suspicious Circumstances, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Items which breach a Registered Trademark. The man is expected to apear before Armagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday 5 May.

The charges are understood to be connected to an incident in the Mount Pleasant area of Newry on 2 May and a subsequent search in the Kilmorey Street area of Newry on 3 May. As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
