Arrests and firearms recovered, Cregagh

Following a planned operation by detectives in Organised Crime earlier today, Friday 22 May, a firearm and quantity of ammunition were recovered. Four males and one female were arrested in the Cregagh area of East Belfast and have been taken to the serious crime suite in Antrim.
The four men, aged 36yrs, 28yrs, and two aged 27yrs and the one female aged 38yrs were later charged with Possession of a Firearm in Suspicious Circumstances. One of the males also been charged with dangerous driving. All five are expected to appear at Newtownards Court on Monday 25 May.
As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.
