Murder, Somerset Drive, Coleraine

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 49 year old man after a serious assault in the Somerset Drive area of Coleraine on Sunday night, 24 May. He has been named as Kevin Brendan McDaid from the Somerset Drive area.
Detectives are also investigating the attempted murder of a 46 year old man in the Pate's Lane area. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the Pate's Lane / Somerset Drive area around 9.30pm last night and witnessed these incidents or has information relating to them to contact them at Coleraine on 0845 600 8000.
