Assault and robbery, Blacks Road, Dunmurry

Detectives are appealing for information following an assault and robbery in the Dunmurry area during the early hours of Sunday morning (15 November).
A 24 year old man was walking close to a hotel on Blacks Road at around 4.40am when he was approached by a number of unknown men. One of the men asked the victim for a light before another struck him on the back of the head, possibly with a hammer.
The victim lost consciousness for a time and when he came round he discovered that his watch and a bracelet had been taken.
The victim is currently being treated in hospital however at this time his injuries are not believed to be serious.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who was in the area at the time. They are particularly keen to hear from a taxi driver who stopped at the scene and took the victim to hospital. Detectives can be contacted by calling Lisburn CID on 0845 600 8000.
