Attempted Robbery, East Belfast

Police in East Belfast are appealing for a motorist who came to the aid of a woman who was being robbed, to get in touch with them.  It is understood that the woman was walking along the North Road at around 8pm tonight when she was approached from behind by a male who punched her to the ground.  The man tried to take the woman’s handbag but she resisted and when a passing motorist came to her aid the attacker ran off.

The woman received an injury to her arm which is not believed to be serious.  Her attacker is described as aged between 30 to 40, tall and overweight.
