Serious sexual assault, East Belfast

Detectives from the PSNI's Rape Crime Unit arrested a man following a serious sexual assault in Belfast, County Antrim.
It happened close to a licensed premises on the Newtownards Road close to Dee Street in the early hours of Saturday November 28 2009.
Shortly before 5:30am a 19 year old woman was walking along the Newtownards Road from a local convenience store when she was attacked from behind and dragged into an alleyway where she was assaulted. The woman has received medical attention to her injuries.
Police are seeking the help of the taxi driver who picked up a young woman in pyjamas and a coat close to MacDonald’s on the Newtownards Road shortly before 5:30am and who dropped her off at the convenience store. Anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information is asked to contact police at Strandtown on 0845 600 8000.
