Shooting incident, Derry

A man aged in his 20s was taken to hospital with gun shot wounds to his lower leg following what appears to have been a paramilitary-style shooting at Bogside in Londonderry on the evening of Wednesday 7 October.

Police were made aware of the incident shortly before 10.10pm.

Officers investigating the incident were hampered by sustained stone and missile throwing by youths. One male officer was treated in hospital after being struck to the head, however his injuries were not life-threatening.
