Re-appeal-Indecency incident, Butler Place, North Belfast
30 Oct 2009
Detectives in North Belfast investigating an incident of indecent exposure in the Ardoyne early on Monday (26th October) have thanked the community for information received to date issued a further appeal for information.
At around 3am on 26th October a man tried to push his way into a house in the Butler Place area. Two women, aged in their 20s and 80s, were in the house at the time and managed to push him out, at which point he indecently exposed himself.
The culprit is believed to be between 26-28 years old, 5ft 8ins tall, very thin, clean shaven with freckles and short or shaven dirty fair or ginger hair. He was wearing a white and navy short-sleeved check shirt, denim jeans and brown boots. He spoke with a Belfast accent.
Police would like to thank people in the area for the information passed on to date, however detectives would stress that the line of enquiry suggested by a number of members of the community has been discounted after being followed up fully by police. Therefore it is important that anyone with information continues to come forward if they know anything which could help.
Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious to contact 0845 600 8000. Alternatively, information may be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
