Collision, West Belfast

A 71 year old man is in a stable condition in hospital following a hit and run collision in Albert Street, West Belfast, early this morning.  The man is believed to have been struck by a blue coloured Hyundai Accent car shortly after 1.30am.  Police officers provided first aid to the man at the scene before he was taken to hospital by ambulance with suspected broken ribs and an injury to his head.

Two people, believed to be males, ran from the vehicle at the time of the collision and headed along Servia Street.  It is understood that the car had been stolen from South Belfast earlier in the night.
