Theft of ATM, Upper Dromore Road, Warrenpoint

18 Oct 2009

Police are appealing for information following the theft of an ATM machine from at petrol station at Upper Dromore Road in Warrenpoint in the early hours of Sunday 18 October.

The cash machine was removed after six hooded and possibly masked men used a digger which was parked nearby to demolish the wall surrounding the machine at around 3.15am.

Police believe the ATM was then loaded onto a white pick up type vehicle and driven away.

The ATM is understood to have contained a substantial sum of money although the exact amount is not known at this time.

Police are keen to speak to witnesses and are especially keen to speak to anyone who noticed the white pick up or a grey coloured 3 series BMW, also believed to have been used by the gang, in the area.

Detectives can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.  Alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
