Armed robbery, Main Street, Belleek

Police in Fermanagh are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a bank on Main Street, Belleek on Monday 21 September.

At approximately 3.15pm a man entered the bank while a second stood at the door of the bank.  The man approached cashiers, produced a firearm and bag and told the cashiers to fill the bag.  The men then made off in a red coloured BMW car with a sum of cash.  A third male is believed to have been waiting in the car.

No one was injured during the incident however those present in the bank were left shaken by their ordeal.

The red BMW was later found abandoned and on fire approximately a mile over the border in the Camlin area.  It is believed the males transferred to a black Vauxhall Vectra with a possible registration of 01 DL 6318.

Police would like to thank the local community for their assistance and their colleagues in An Garda Siochana for their swift response.  They would also like to appeal to anyone who noticed the red BMW car around the area or witnessed the men entering or leaving the bank, or anyone who has information in relation to the whereabouts of the black Vauxhall Vectra car or the whereabouts of those involved in this incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.  Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
