Assault, Irish Street, Downpatrick

Detectives in Downpatrick have made an appeal for witnesses to come forward following an assault in the Irish Street area of the town in the early hours of Sunday, September 27.
It was reported that a man was assaulted after he was picked up by two men in a car at Irish Street sometime between 5am and 5.30am.
They drove him in the direction of Struell Wells, Downpatrick, and the car was driven into a field on the Ballyhoran Road, where he was assaulted by both men.
Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who knows anything about this man being picked up in the Irish Street area, or if anyone saw or heard anything suspicious in the Ballyhoran Road area of the town around this time.
