Security alert Waterloo Park Antrim Road

A viable device has been removed from the Waterloo Park area of the Antrim Road today (Thursday 17 September) for further examination.

The security alert has ended and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.  Police remain at the scene.

Initial enquiries suggest that the device, which has been described as pipe bomb-type device, was left close to a house overnight.

Police are working to establish a motive for the incident.
