Robbery, Newtownards

Detectives investigating a robbery at a golf club in Newtownards early this morning are appealing for information. It is understood that shortly after 1.30am two members of staff were clearing up following a function at the premises on the Scrabo Road. The staff members were approached by three males who threatened them and demanded that they hand over money before making off.
Police are appealing for anyone who was attending a function at the golf club on Friday night and who may have any information to contact them at Newtownards 0845 600 8000. Anonymous information can also be given to the Crimestoppers charity 0800 555 111.
Police responding to the incident carried out a search of the area. Two men, aged in their twenties were arrested nearby and a quantity of cash was recovered. Both men are currently helping Police with their enquiries.
