Murder, Woodbourne Crescent, West Belfast
22 Apr 2010
Detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch have launched a murder enquiry in west Belfast, County Antrim.
Fifty eight years-old Seamus Fox, who lived at Horne Drive, Belfast, was found at Woodbourne Crescent around 2am on Thursday April 22, 2010. He died a short time later. One 18 years-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Debbie McMaster, made an appeal for information.
“This was a very violent and senseless attack and a needless waste of someone's life. We are still trying to gather all the relevant information in relation to this incident and obviously it is very early in the inquiry to go into detail.
Seamus Fox was part of the west Belfast community. We need that community to give us the information which will bring his killer or killers to justice and help make west Belfast safer.
Detectives are investigating a motive and CCTV is one line of enquiry. We are examining some footage however I am not in a position to elaborate on that any further.
Anyone who was in the area of Woodbourne Crescent – near the back of Woodbourne police station – anytime last night or before 2am this morning should contact detectives on 0845 600 8000."
