Explosion, Newtownhamilton

Police are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact them after a car bomb exploded outside Newtownhamilton Police Station in County Armagh at around 11.23pm on Thursday 22 April.
Two people have sustained injuries and have been taken to hospital. These injuries are not believed to be life threatening, however the man and elderly woman concerned are extremely shaken.
Police were made aware at 10.30pm following a telephone warning and were on route to the scene when the device exploded.
Damage was caused to a number of properties surrounding the station.
Police are also investigating a report that a number of shots were fired in the area prior to the explosion.
It is understood that the vehicle was a white Toyota Corolla. Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the car in the area prior to it being abandoned outside the station.
