Armed robbery, south Belfast

Police are appealing for information following a robbery at an off-licence on the Lisburn Road on Sunday night. Shortly before 8.30pm one male entered the shop and made his way towards the chilled cabinets. A second male entered the store a short time later, produced a handgun and threatened the shop assistant with the weapon demanding cash. A sum of cash was taken from the tills and a quantity of cigarettes was also placed in a bag by the first male who entered the shop. Both robbers then fled from the premises in the direction of Chadwick Street.
The first man who entered the shop is described as being in his early twenties, with short dark hair; about 5’8”tall and medium build. He was wearing a grey hooded zipped top and dark coloured tracksuit trousers. The second man is described as being in his late twenties, with short dark hair, about 5’10” tall; wearing a black hooded zipped top and dark coloured trousers.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed two men acting suspiciously in the area of Chadwick Street around this time or anyone with information to contact detectives at Musgrave Street on 0845 600 8000.
