Attempted robbery, Dundonald

Detectives are appealing for information following the attempted robbery of cash-in-transit staff at Ballybeen Square on Monday morning (12 April). At approximately 9.45am a guard was approached by a masked male brandishing a knife. A struggle ensued during which the security guard received a slash wound to his hand. The robber fled empty handed. The guard was taken to hospital for treatment to his wound which was not believed to be serious.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or anyone with information to contact them at Castlereagh on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively, information about crime can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
