Aggravated burglary, Upper Newtownards Road, East Belfast

Detectives in East Belfast are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in the Upper Newtownards Road area.

At 11.45 pm on Saturday, 17 April, four males forced entry to a house. The three occupants of the house were held in a room while the males ransacked the house. The males made off in a turquoise coloured Mercedes car with a quantity of jewellery and cash.

The four males all spoke with local accents and were wearing dark clothing, gloves and balaclavas.

One of the male occupants was taken to hospital for treatment to a suspected rib injury. All three occupants were left extremely shaken by their ordeal.

Police are appealing to anyone who was in this area around this time and noticed unusual activity or observed a number of males hanging round to contact them. They would also like to hear from anyone who noticed the turquoise coloured Mercedes making off or has any information in relation to this incident.
