Armed robbery Cash in Transit van, Mallusk

Police in Newtownabbey are investigating armed robbery of a cash in transit van at a bank on the Mallusk Road Mallusk shortly after 9am this morning (Tuesday 20 April).
Three unknown men, one of whom was armed with a handgun approached the security guard and threatened him with the weapon before making off with a substantial sum of money in the direction of the Hightown road.
The armed robber is described as 6ft tall, of slim build, and a florescent jacket. The security guard was unhurt but shaken by his ordeal.
A red Skoda Felicia was recovered abandoned at a local sports club on the Mallusk road a short time later.
