Arson attacks, Cromwell Road and Fitzroy Avenue, South Belfast

Detectives in South Belfast are appealing for information following arson attacks on two homes in the Cromwell Road area last night (Saturday 17 April) and a further attack on another home in the Fitzroy Avenue area in the early hours of this morning (Sunday 18 April).

Shortly after 11:30pm last night emergency services were called to the scene and the Cromwell Road was closed between its junctions with Westminster Road and Wellesley Street for a short time while the fires were dealt with.  The attack in Fitzroy Avenue occurred shortly before 7:00am this morning and link between these incidents is being investigated.  No one was in the properties at the time and there are no reports of any injuries.

The investigation is at its early stages and a motive for the incidents has yet to be established.
