Assault, East Street, Newtownards

Police in Newtownards are appealing for information following an assault in the East Street area on Thursday, 15 April.
At 8.50pm police received a report of a 27 year old man assaulted in East Street. Two males were seen making off from the scene to Francis Street and on towards Church Street. Both males are described as being in their late teens. The first is described as being tall with dark hair and was wearing a dark coloured bomber jacket. The second male is described as being short, with lighter coloured hair and was wearing a grey coloured top.
The 27 year old received facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or has information in relation to it to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
