Arrests armed robberies convenience stores South Belfast

Detectives in South Belfast investigating an armed robbery and two attempted armed robberies of convenience stores in the area this morning have arrested two men both aged 21 year old man in connection with the incidents.
The attempted robberies occurred in the Stranmillis road shortly after 6:30am and the Ormeau road shortly after 6:40am. A short time later at around just after 7am one male entered a shop in the Botanic Ave and threatened staff with a hammer before making of an amount of cigarettes in a blue coloured Renault Clio. Police stopped the car a short distance away and the men were arrested.
Anyone who witnessed the blue Renault Clio in the South Belfast area from around 6am this morning or who has any information is asked to contact police on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
