Assault, West Belfast

Detectives are investigating an assault in West Belfast.

Shortly before 2am, a man aged in his 20s was assaulted by a number of men in a communal area outside his flat at Lenadoon Avenue.

He was taken to hospital with three stab wounds to his head, including a stab injury to his eye. Further details of the extent of the eye injury are still being established.

The man's injuries were understood to be serious but not life-threatening.

A woman aged in 20s and two men aged in their 50s and 30s have been arrested and are assisting police with their enquiries

Initial enquiries suggest that this was a domestic-type incident.
