Supermarket robbery Limavady
08 Aug 2010
Detectives in Derry are appealing for information following a robbery at a supermarket store in the Main Street area of Limavady last night (Sat 7 Aug).
Around 9:30pm the manager of the store was making his way to work along the Barnault Road from Claudy in his blue Volkswagen Bora when he was stopped by four unknown men in a black BMW. They threatened him and ordered him to empty the safe in the store. He was then directed to drive to the Buncranna area where a substantial sum of money was handed over to the thieves. The manger was unhurt but badly shaken by his ordeal.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone who witnessed either the BMW stopping the Volkswagen, suspicious activity in Main Street Limavady or either car travelling towards Buncranna. Police can be contacted at Strand Road CID on 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
