Man confronted by burglars, Aghagallon, County Armagh

Detectives in Lurgan are appealing for information following a burglary at a house at Colane Road, Aghagallon. It is understood that a man, aged in his sixties and visually impaired, was alerted by the sound of someone banging at his front door, shouting to get in, at around 10pm on Monday night (2 August). The man was then confronted by at least two males who led him to a downstairs room. The house was ransacked by the men who made off a short time later. The victim, who was uninjured but shaken, was able to make his way to a neighbouring house to raise the alarm.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the Colane Road area around this time and may have noticed any unusual activity or anyone with information to contact detectives at Lurgan on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity by calling 0800 555 111.
