Security alert, Fir Grove Lane, Antrim

Police and ATO have examined a viable pipe bomb type device found at a house in the Fir Grove Lane area of Antrim on Wednesday morning, 11th August.
Police were made aware of a call to a local broadcaster stating a device had been left in the area at around 7.14am.
A local police patrol located the item on the window sill of a house and ATO were tasked.
A number of residents evacuated from their homes for a time.
The device was subsequently removed for further examination
Police are working to establish a motive and are appealing for information. Detectives can be contacted on 0845 600 8000.
