Serious assault, Randalstown

Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following a serious assault in the Main Street area of Randalstown in the early hours of Sunday morning 29 August.

Just before 1am, police received a report that a 20-year-old male had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is described as critical at this stage.

One male has been arrested and is currently helping police with their enquiries.

Detectives are investigating and are appealing to anyone with information to contact them. They are particularly keen to speak to two females who were in the area at the time of the assault.
