Strand Road Police Station bomb attack charges
Detectives investigating the bomb attack on Strand Road police station in Derry on Tuesday 3 August have charged a 42-year-old man with a series of offences in connection with the incident.
The 42-year-old, who was arrested by detectives from the Serious Crime Branch last Saturday, has been charged with causing the explosion, possession of explosives, hijacking, false imprisonment and membership of Óglaigh na hÉireann
The man, who will appear at Londonderry Magistrates Court on Friday 13 August, will face a total of 12 charges, which also include attempted hijacking, attempting to cause an explosion and possession of a firearm.
As is normal procedure, the charges are subject to review by the Public Prosecution Service.
A 53-year-old man who is being questioned as part of the same investigation remains in custody.
