Attempted robbery, Lurgan

18 Feb 2010

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted armed robbery at commercial premises in the Albert Street area of Lurgan on 16 February. Just before 7.50pm police received a report that a lone male, thought to be brandishing a knife and with his face partially covered, had entered the shop and threatened a female employee. The intruder is described as being aged between 19 and 20 years; thin build and pale complexion; wearing a white hooded top with navy stripes over a grey hooded top; dark coloured tracksuit bottoms and white trainers. Police are working to establish if this incident is linked to a similar occurrence at commercial premises in the same area on 14 February when a male made off with a small sum of cash.

Anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact detectives in Lurgan on 0845 600 8000; alternatively information about crime can be passed anonymously via the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
