Aggravated assault, Carrs Glen Park, North Belfast

A 22 year old man has been taken to hospital after he was struck with a weapon, believed to be a handgun, during an assault in the Carrs Glen Park area of North Belfast earlier this morning (Sunday 21 February).

Shortly before 7:30am two men attacked the man, leaving him with head, rib and facial injuries.  The man’s injuries are believed to be life threatening at this stage.  A 20 year old man was also taken to hospital for treatment to shock.  

Two men aged 27 and 55 were arrested a short time later and are currently helping police with their enquiries.
