Serious assault, Newtownards

Police are investigating a serious assault on a female in the Newtownards area on Thursday 4 February.
The incident was reported around 10.10pm. Four males wearing balaclavas forced their way into a house in the Blenheim Drive area of Ards and assaulted a 29-year-old woman with baseball bats. They ransacked the property and broke a number of windows before leaving.
The woman sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and is being treated in hospital. A male who was also in the house at the time of the incident escaped unhurt.
Detectives in Bangor are appealing for witnesses and information and want anyone who was in the Blenheim Drive area between 9.15pm and 10.15pm and who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone with any information, to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
