Robbery, West Belfast

10 Feb 2010

Police are investigating following a robbery at a house in West Belfast by a number of masked and armed men.  At around 10pm on Tuesday (9 February) a male called at the door of the house in Glencolin Walk.  When a female occupant answered the door she was pushed aside by the man who made his way into the house accompanied by three other men.  Two of the men were carrying handguns while a third was carrying a sawn-off shotgun.  A man in his fifties and two women, one in her 50’s and one aged 17 years were in the house at the time.  All three were held while the gang searched the house before leaving with mobile phones and a sum of cash.  The family were locked in a bedroom by the robbers but managed to free themselves and report the incident to police.
