Aggravated burglary, Tobarcooran Avenue, Newtownabbey

Detectives in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary at a house in the Tobarcooran Avenue area.
At approximately 8.30pm on Monday, 4 January, a male called to a house and asked to borrow a pen and paper. When the male occupant of the house unlocked the door a further four males entered the house and forced the occupant into a room.
One of the males had a screwdriver in his possession and cut the occupant's hand. The occupant was then held in the room and threatened before the males made off with a sum of cash.
Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area and witnessed the males entering or leaving this house or has information in relation to it to contact them on 0845 600 8000. Information about crime can also be passed anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
