Armed robbery, East Belfast

Detectives are appealing for information about an incident in East Belfast.

Shortly after midday on Tuesday 12 January it was reported that a man armed with a handgun had approached a cash-in-transit driver collecting money from a discount shop within Connswater Retail Park.

The thief forced the man to hand over a sum of cash and made his escape in a dark coloured Vauxhall hatch-back car. The cash-in-transit driver was not injured.

The man, who was armed with the handgun, is described as aged in his late 20s, 5'8, of thin build and with cropped hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket. The car was driven by a second man.
