Update on Constable Paeder Heffron’s condition
13 Jan 2010
Constable Peadar Heffron, who was critically injured in a cowardly attack early on Friday morning(8 January) as he left his home in Randalstown to travel to work in West Belfast, went through major surgery at the Royal Victoria Hospital yesterday (Tuesday 12 January). The operation has resulted in the amputation of Peadar's right leg. His condition remains critical but stable at this time.
As previously stated the family do not wish to do any media interviews at this time and ask that all queries are directed to the press office. This is a very challenging time for Peadar and his family and we would ask the media to respect their wishes regarding all personal media interviews.
