Shooting incident, Waterloo Street, Derry

Detectives at Strand Road are appealing for information following a shooting incident in the Waterloo Street area of the city on Wednesday 27 January.
At approximately 5:30pm, a male wearing a motorcycle helmet entered commerical premises in the area and fired several shots at a male believed to be in his 50s. The victim sustained gunshot injuries to his lower body. He has been taken to hospital for treatment where is condition is believed to be serious at this stage.
Detectives are investigating and would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who noticed the male wearing the motorcycle helmet enter the premises or who saw a motorcyclist acting suspiciously in the area to contact them. Anyone with information should contact detectives at Strand Road on 0845 600 8000.
